This hand is tenpai. What does it wait on?
Tap every winning tile, then check. Tap again to unmark.
Reading waits fast is one skill. Choosing which wait to build is another. Want a pro to look at the hands you play?
How to use
- Choose one-suit hands (chinitsu style) or mixed hands, and how many waits you want to face.
- Study the hand and tap every tile that wins it. Tap a tile again to unmark it.
- Hit Check. Each wait shows one way to split the finished hand, with the winning tile outlined.
- Your score and streak stay in this browser.
How it works
Every hand starts as four random sets and a pair with one tile taken out, so it’s always tenpai. The difficulty keeps the number of waits in range: 1 to 2, 3 to 4, or 5 and up.
To find the waits, the quiz adds each of the 34 tile kinds to the hand and checks for four sets and a pair, seven pairs or thirteen orphans.
It skips hands where a shape waits on a tile you already hold all four of. That tile can’t come, so it isn’t a real wait.
An answer is right only when you mark every wait and nothing else.
Want to read waits like a pro at the table?
Spotting waits is half of it. The other half is shaping your hand toward the good ones. Coaching covers both.
